Springboard 2025: A Big Boost for WNY’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

Blog

We’re excited to announce that 43North is once again partnering with Springboard, a program designed to fuel new energy, ideas, and momentum across Western New York’s startup community.

What is Springboard?
Springboard is more than just a funding opportunity—it’s a call to action. The program supports ecosystem builders who are designing activities, hosting events, and creating networks that strengthen the entrepreneurial landscape across WNY.

In 2025, at least $500,000 in total prizes will be awarded to selected applicants, with individual grants ranging from $5,000 to $100,000. Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges and celebrated at a high-energy awards event this July in Buffalo.

Who’s Eligible to Apply?
The competition is open to organizations and individuals located in the following counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming. Eligible applicants include:

  • Nonprofit or for-profit entrepreneur support organizations

  • Local school districts (K–12)

  • Colleges and universities with entrepreneur-focused programs

  • Capital providers (seed funds, angel groups, venture capital funds, CDFIs)

  • Entrepreneurs with an existing company, including sole proprietors

All applicants must have a valid Employee Identification Number (EIN).

Why It Matters
Springboard isn’t just about funding—it’s about building. The program fosters storytelling, celebrates innovation, and creates ripple effects that generate real impact across our communities. Whether you’re hosting a pitch event, launching a new founder-focused initiative, or simply building meaningful connections in the startup space, Springboard is here to support you.

Applications are open now and due by June 10, 2025.
The process is simple and streamlined. Head to SpringboardNY.org to learn more and apply.

Let’s keep building an inclusive, connected, and thriving startup ecosystem—together.
